A full day of aerial filming and photography capturing the replacement of the Doncaster Dome’s rooftop cupola, for Universal Group.

Universal Group commissioned Drone Site UK to document the replacement of the Doncaster Dome’s rooftop cupola — the distinctive glazed lantern crowning the well-known leisure centre. After years of service, the original dome had deteriorated and was due to be replaced.
Over a single full day we captured the operation from the air: the old cupola lifted away, the roof opened up, and the new steel-framed dome rigged on the ground before being craned carefully into position. We returned later to film some night work too.
The result was a package of high-resolution stills together with an edited promo video set to music — the whole story of the day captured in a single visit, with no other progress trips required.
