The job
Universal Group commissioned Drone Site UK to document the replacement of the Doncaster Dome’s rooftop cupola, the distinctive glazed lantern crowning the well-known leisure centre. After years of service, the original dome had deteriorated and was due to be replaced.
What it replaced
Repeated progress visits. The whole operation was captured in a single day, with one return visit for the night work.
What we did
Over a single full day we captured the operation from the air: the old cupola lifted away, the roof opened up, and the new steel-framed dome rigged on the ground before being craned carefully into position. We returned later to film some night work too.
